Government fears Chinese smartphone makers stealing data, sends notice to 21 companies including Xiaomi, Samsung, Apple

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has directed around 21 smartphone manufacturing companies on Wednesday to provide details about their security process. The list includes almost all the major smartphone makers, including a few from Indian manufactures.

Government has decided to examine the procedure that smartphone makers follow to ensure the security of mobile phones sold in India.
